If there is any confusing over the matter of prophesying, to be a prophet is not mainly a person who “predicts the future” but one who speaks for another, as Aaron spoke for Moses in Exodus 7:1-2.
All the believers have the capacity to prophesy and have the obligation to prophesy (1 Cor. 14:31, 24)… First Corinthians 14:31 says that we can all prophesy one by one. The word “can” indicates the capacity, the ability , to prophesy…
Because we all have the divine life, we have the capacity to speak Christ… We all need to grow with the increase of God. The increase of God within us increases our capacity so that this capacity is developed unto our ability (The Advance of the Lord’s Recovery Today, p. 115-117).
Further enlightenment from the home meeting tonight: We have the capacity to prophesy, and when we practice to prophesy, we develop the ability to prophesy. Hence – we CAN all prophesy! 🙂
